Since the completion of the Human Genome Project, genetic technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, and the genetic testing market has rapidly emerged globally. Gene testing technology is widely used in clinical medical testing, scientific and technological services, agricultural breeding, translational medicine (R&D of new drugs), crime identification and others. In particular, the impact on the clinical medical testing is the most profound. Nowadays, genetic testing technology is widely used in clinical medicine, including prenatal testing, tumor susceptibility gene testing, genetic disease testing and diagnosis. Since 2016, the state has repeatedly emphasized the development of emerging technologies such as genetic diagnosis and industry specifications for gene sequencing. Additionally, in August 2016 and January 2017, respectively, the state issued the “13th Five-Year" Plan for National Science and Technology Innovation and the “13th Five-Year Plan for National Strategic Emerging Industries, indicating that the state has attached importance to the development of the gene sequencing industry and advancement of related industries in a planned way.
